What keeps you up at night?

Have you ever noticed how anxiety and stress quietly impacts the fabric of your daily routine? Perhaps you find yourself grappling with recurring thoughts or struggling to dispel a lingering sense of unease, especially when life accelerates. The pressure to keep up can be relentless, leaving you tense or even overwhelmed, regardless of your efforts. In today’s fast-paced world, it’s natural to wonder: is everyone else feeling the same way, or is it just me? Such questions persist and, before long, begin to influence the way you think, feel, and move through your life.

Persistent anxiety can negatively impact work, relationships, physical health, and emotional well-being. At work, it may lower motivation, concentration, and job satisfaction while making tasks seem overwhelming. Socially, anxiety can cause withdrawal, irritability, and misunderstandings, leading to isolation. Physically, chronic stress often results in headaches, muscle tension, digestive issues, and changes in appetite or sleep, as well as reduced immune function. Emotionally, prolonged anxiety contributes to irritability, despair, and diminished enjoyment of life, resulting in fatigue and difficulty coping with daily challenges.

A Common Human Experience—The Pervasive Nature of Anxiety and Stress
The reality is that feeling stressed or anxious is a universal part of the human condition. These emotional responses can feel isolating, especially when anxiety quietly seeps into your day-to-day life, but you are far from alone. Our thoughts play a powerful role, often shaping actions and amplifying sensations of uncertainty or being stuck. While moments of anxiety are normal—arising during life’s challenges such as work demands, exams, new relationships, or big decisions—these feelings can intensify and become woven into the fabric of our routines.

"I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become" Carl Jung
Imagine allowing yourself the opportunity to learn and experience the skills and ability to more effectively manage your reactions to stress. Allowing a calmer version of yourself to participate in life, choosing your actions to manage stress rather than always reacting. With many years of training and experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) I help individuals calm the confusion they are experiencing.
CBT is an evidence-based therapy that explores how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. It has proven to be very effective in helping clients manage inner turmoil and feel more confident when faced with stress and anxiety.
In partnership, we typically begin by exploring current stressful situations, we then work to identify and reframe distorted or unhelpful thought patterns that are contributing your anxiety. Sometimes, we reflect on your past to understand how these behaviors impact your present. Experiences from primary caregivers who were often negative or critical can have a strong impact on how we learn to cope and experience and manage anxiety.

"Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together" Marilyn Monroe
